Ring Out in Celebration (6.30pm)
We are delighted to confirm Llanrhystud Church, will be taking part in ‘Ringing Out in Celebration’ of the 80th Anniversary of VE Day 80 – 8th May 2025, using their involvement to commemorate and pay ‘tribute’ to the many thousands of those from Wales that so bravely, paid the ultimate sacrifice, fighting for the freedom we all enjoy today.
Fish and Chips
Due to the fact that Fish and Chips – Britain’s favourite dish, was not rationed by Prime Minister Churchill during the whole of WWII, we also want to use this occasion to continue paying tribute to the brave fishermen who fished the seas and the farmers and land girls who toiled in the fields, by encouraging the eating of Fish and Chips throughout the day, as part of these VE Day 80 celebrations on 8th May 2025.

VE Day 80 Light Lamp of Peace, Tribute and Song (9.30pm)
We invite you all to come together at this time, and sing the wonderful and uplifting British patriotic hymn – ‘I Vow To Thee My Country’. This has never been undertaken before, so it will bring the peoples, families and communities of our great Nation together at one moment in time, providing a wonderful ’tribute’ to the many millions that paid the ultimate sacrifice during the dark days of WWII.
