Ceredigion County Councils Public Rights of Way team have launched a new volunteer scheme known as ‘Trail Champions.’

The purpose of Trail Champions is to help support and maintain existing Public Rights of Way across Ceredigion, including footpaths and bridleways, along with implementing vegetation management methods that will help improve biodiversity. The aim is to help foster a sense of pride, ownership and responsibility between individuals, communities, and the greenspaces available on the doorstep, offering an avenue for people to learn and share new skills whilst meeting and working with like-minded people in the community.

We are in the process of ‘recruiting’ individuals to join the scheme and become Trail Champions and would be grateful if you could share this information amongst the Community Council to identify whether you feel there is scope and/or interest to establish a group within your community. Ceredigion County Council will supply the necessary equipment, training and resources. Should you feel that a group would be successful in the area, please get in touch so that we may discuss with you the next steps. We will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have and attend any meetings to discuss the scheme in detail.

If you would be interested in being part of the ‘Trail Champions’ team in Llanrhystud community, please contact Llanrhystud Community Council via the contact page or by emailing the clerk.
